Dorrigo Seed Savers (your Local Seed Network)
Meets every second month on the 4th Monday: January, March, May, July, September, November.
This group is for people who enjoy swapping seeds, cuttings, divisions and plants. It's a group that grows from seed to seed, producing locally adapted seed, and preserving the genetic basis of tomorrow's food.
If you are concerned about the quality of your food and lack of diverse varieties, this group is for you!
Dorrigo Awareness Garden
The Dorrigo Awareness Garden is on the verge in Vine Street, Dorrigo: drive along Hickory Street and continue along Vine Street (toward Dangar Falls). Before you get to the edge of town you'll see Sweet Sal (or is it Sassy Sal?) on the right, keeping an eye on the garden beds.
The Awareness Garden is a project of the Dorrigo Seed Savers, aimed at showing what can be grown here, and using the plants to harvest seed. A wide range of locally acclimatised seed is available from the Seed Savers group - see us at the Dorrigo Community Markets. We may also have seedlings, cuttings and rhizomes, depending on the time of year.
