Dorrigo Visitor Testimonials

Not just a Day Trip

destination dorrigo stay longerMy husband and I were lucky enough to have spent the last few days exploring Dorrigo and the surrounding towns seeing all the beautiful waterfalls and rainforest areas. We stayed at a wonderful place called Mossgrove B&B which was 5 star accommodation and the owners are amazing hosts who go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. So don't just visit Dorrigo for a day, stay overnight or for a few days to see everything that is on offer 😊

Great Dorrigo Waterfall

dorrigo testimonial 02We spent a weekend after the recent rains visiting the waterfalls along the Waterfall Way.
Dangar Falls are wonderful, especially with the rugged wall of rock to one side and the pretty rock pool at the base.
The viewing platform is just near the car park but there is a steep 10 minute track to the bottom.
There is a lovely park at the top with a picnic area, great kids playground and an amenities block.
There is also a beautiful labyrinth made from different coloured pavers. There is one continuous path and has no right way of going through it.

After having fallen in love with this place during a brief visit in 2014, I decided to return to continue exploring the many facets of this amazing area of the country.

Dorrigo is positioned on the aptly named highway Waterfall Way which offers some of the most picturesque waterfalls I have ever seen.

If you are planning to drive along Waterfall Way, the 'must visit' locations are without a doubt - Dorrigo National Park & Rainforest Centre, Dangar Falls and the impressive Ebor Falls.

With such diversity in locations and scenery, the Dorrigo area is the perfect place for weekend getaway or an extended adventure. I recommend visiting around May as the daytime temperatures are perfect for hiking and the Autumn colours are simply stunning!

Dorrigo Waterfalls - We Are Explorers

destination dorrigo we are explorersAt the completion of the rainforest loop I decided to check out Dangar Falls, a stone’s throw drive outside of Dorrigo.

The walk down is marked boardwalk, with some slippery sections towards the bottom. Definitely worth taking your camera as it is very picturesque. I was later told that if you follow the river in the opposite direction you will come to some cascading falls that are rarely visited, apart from the locals. The place was relatively quiet, so I scouted some vantage points to revisit later that night.
